Childbirth Education
We offer a wide range of classes, taught by members of the labor and delivery team, lactation consultants and nursing staff, with valuable information and helpful tips for expectant parents, whether it’s your first baby or the newest addition to a growing family.
Topics include:
Childbirth Preparation
An overview of what to expect during pregnancy, the labor and delivery process, and pain relief options during childbirth, including massage, relaxation, breathing and medications. A tour of the Women’s Center is also included during the course.
Classes meet monthly on scheduled Monday evenings at the Women's Center classroom from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Newborn Care
Practical information on taking care of your baby in the first few months of life, from feeding to sleeping to developmental milestones. A free infant CPR class is offered as a companion course.
Classes meet monthly on scheduled Monday evenings at the Women's Center classroom from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Infant CPR class meets from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Breastfeeding
Breastfeeding takes patience and practice. Learning the basics of breastfeeding before your baby arrives sets the stage for a more successful breastfeeding experience. Expectant parents can ask questions and gain helpful tips from experienced lactation consultants and nurses.
Classes meet monthly on scheduled Monday evenings at the Women's Center classroom from 6 p.m - 8 p.m.
